MITSUBISHI PAJERO 4X4 JEEP with GEARBOX TROUBLE
A Mitsubishi Pajero was bought to us for a major gearbox repair.
The Pajero owner was reporting that the gearbox wouldn't change up from 2nd into 3rd gear.
We stripped down the existing gearbox and ordered a second donor gearbox to replace the beyond repair broken parts. We noticed that this gearbox had received a previous repair and found many shards of steel floating around inside, which didn't help matters.
The huge gearbox of the Pajero took 4 mechanics strength to lift it out as the gearbox stretches almost the length of the jeep
Finally the gearbox was ready to road test. Currently it does now change up throo the gears, alas now the loud noises have gone, we are noticing many more problems with this jeep.
It's going to take quite a lot of TLC, time and money to get this jeep fully back on the road and motoring again.
When a Pajero goes wrong, it really goes wrong!
